Dried chickpeas - 2 cups
Oil 2 tbsp
Onion -1
Bay leaf -1
Garlic- 2 tbsp
Ginger- 2 tbsp
Tomatoes - (chopped) 2
Coriander powder 2 tbsp
Dried mango powder (amchur) 2 tbsp
Roasted cumin powder 2 tbsp
Salt 2 tbsp
Garam masala 1 tbsp
Red chilli powder 1 tbsp
Turmeric 1 tbsp
Black pepper - ½ tbsp
Black cardamom 1
Water 2 cups
Coriander leaves and onion- as required
Soak the chickpeas in cold water overnight. Drain, rinse and set aside.
Connect the power cord to ROBOCOOK and switch ‘ON’ button. Press the Saute Button in front dashboard and wait for 30 secs for the inner cooking pot to get heated up.
Add oil to the inner cooking pot and let it heat a bit. Add onion, bay leaf and saute for 6-7 minutes, or until the onion begins to brown.
Next add the garlic, ginger, chopped tomatoes one by one and saute for 5-7 minutes, or until they break down.
Add the Coriander powder, Dried mango powder (amchur), Roasted cumin powder, Salt, Garam masala, Red chilli powder, Turmeric, Black pepper, Black cardamom and saute well.
Then add the chickpeas and water. Stir well and press cancel to stop saute.
Place the closing lid over the top, Turn and place the Pointer in ‘CLOSE’ Position. Ensure the lid is firmly closed and Pressure release button should be on ‘DOWN’ Position.
Press the ‘Channa’pre-set menu button in the ROBOCOOK and select Medium. PIC TECHNOLOGY pre-sets temperature/pressure/timer for pre-cooking
After Pre-Cooking is done the cooking countdown will appear and starts down from 40 mins. Once the countdown comes down and cooking is completed it stops with 3 Beep sound and automatically switches to KEEP WARMmode. Press ‘Cancel’ if not required.
Wait for 10 mins to get Natural Pressure Release (OR) it can be released manually by pulling ‘UP’ the pressure release button. Ensure the pressure is released completely on both the methods.
Now TWIST and Open the cooker. Switch to Keep warm or Off mode. Discard the black cardamom and the bay leaf, garnish with onion and chopped coriander leaves.
