Ava Panasa Pottu Curry

Mustard seeds (Avalu) – 1 Tbsp
Sesame seeds – 1 Tsp
Red chillies – 3
Salt to taste
Cooking Oil – 3 Tbsp
Tamarind paste – 1//2 cup
Panasapottu ( Tender Jackfruit) – 1 cup
Garam masala (optional) – 1 Tbsp
Curry leaves – handful
Cumin seeds – 1 Tsp
Coriander leaves for garnishing
Bengal gram dal – 1/4 tsp
Urad dal – 1/4 tsp
Asafoetida – 1 pinch
Green chillies – 3
Lime for garnishing – slit into slices
Prepare the Aava paste by grinding Mustard seeds, Red chillies, Sesame seeds into a fine paste.
Soak the Panasapottu (Tender Jackfruit) in Tamarind paste and a pinch of salt for 30 mins.
Connect the power cord to ROBOCOOK and switch ‘ON’ button. Press The Saute' Button in front dashboard and wait for 30 secs for the inner cooking pot to get heated up.
Add 3 Tbsp cooking oil into the Cooking pot, add Mustard seeds, Cumin seeds, Bengal gram, Urad dal, Asafoetida, Curry leaves and stir till they all crackle.
Then add Green Chillies & the soaked Panasapottu. Add Salt, Garam Masala and stir in Saute mode for about 3 minutes.
Place the closing lid over the top, Turn and place the Pointer in ‘Close’ Position. Ensure the lid is firmly closed and Pressure release button should be on ‘DOWN’ Position.
Choose the Idly mode from the Menu option with taste as Quick option.
Pre-Cooking will happen for few seconds and once the cooking is completed 3 Beep sounds will be heard and it will automatically switches to keep warm mode. Press ‘Cancel’ if not required.
Wait for 10 mins to get Natural Pressure Release (OR) it can be released manually by pulling ‘UP’ the pressure release button. Ensure the pressure is released completely on both the methods.
Open the Cooker and choose the Saute option. Stir the gravy and add the Ava paste & continue in Saute mode for about 5 minutes.
Finally garnish with Coriander leaves, Green chilly and Lime.
Enjoy this Antioxidant rich curry with Cooked rice or a Sambhar Rice.
