For cooking :
Prawns – 1/2kg
Oil – 50ml
Onion– 1½ cup (chopped)
Mustard – 1tsp
Curry leaf – 2spring
Green chili - 2
Ginger garlic paste – 2tsp
Tomato – 1cup (chopped)
Turmeric powder – 1/2tsp
Chili powder – 2tsp
Coriander powder – 2tsp
Salt - as required
For powder :
Pepper – 1tbsp
Clove – 3
Cardamom – 4
Cinnamon – 2stick
Jeera – 1tsp
Somuf – 1tsp
Star anise – 1small
Red chili – 4no
Coconut – 2tbsp
Clean and wash the prawns with salt and turmeric powder. Keep aside.
Using a blender grind pepper, clove, cardamom, cinnamon, jeera, somuf, star anise, red chili, coconut and make it a fine powder. Keep aside.
Connect the power cord to ROBOCOOK and switch ‘ON’ button. Press the Sauté́ Button in front dashboard and wait for 30 secs for the inner cooking pot to get heated up.
Add oil to the inner cooking pot and let it heat a bit. Add onion, mustard, curry leaf and sauté until the onion turns brown in colour.
Then add ginger garlic paste and sauté for few seconds. Add tomato, green chili and continue to sauté till the tomatoes become mushy.
Next add turmeric powder, chili powder, coriander powder, ground masala powder. Mix well until the masalas get combined.
Finally add the prawns and mix well. Add 1/2cup of water and stir cook for few minutes. Once done switch to “keep warm or off” mode. Give it a quick stir and garnish it with coriander leaves.
Chettinadu Eral masala is ready to serve with Steamed rice.
