Goan prawn curry

Medium Prawns (peeled and deveined)- 250 grams
Oil - 3-4 tbsp
Onion (finely chopped) - 1 medium
Salt to taste
Turmeric powder - ¼ tsp
Green chillies (slit)- 2-3
Vinegar - 1 tbsp
Cooked red rice for serving
Fresh coriander sprig for garnishing
To Paste
Dried red chillies - 5-6
Coriander seeds - 2 tbsp
Cumin seeds (jeera) - 1½ tsp
Garlic cloves - 3-4
Ginger - 1 inch
Small onion (finely chopped) - 1
Scraped fresh coconut - ½ cup
Tamarind pulp - 1 tbsp
To prepare paste, combine coriander seeds, cumin seeds, garlic cloves, chopped ginger, dried red chillies, onion, coconut, tamarind pulp, 3-4 tsp of water in a blender jar.
Chopped ginger, add to blender along with broken dried red chillies, onion, coconut, tamarind pulp and 3-4 tablespoons water and blend into a smooth paste.
Take prawns in a bowl. Add salt and turmeric powder and mix well.
Connect the power cord to ROBOCOOK and switch ‘ON’ button. Press the Saute Button in front dashboard and wait for 30 secs for the inner cooking pot to get heated up.
Add oil to the inner cooking pot and let it heat a bit. Add onion and saute till it becomes golden brown.
Add marinated prawns to pot, mix and cook for 1 minute. Add ground paste, stir and cook for 1-2 minutes.
Add 1½ cups water, mix and cook for 2 minutes. Add salt, green chillies, and stir. Mix cover and cook till the mixture boils and prawns are fully done.
Add vinegar, mix and continue to cook for 1 minute. Switch Off Robocook
Goan Prawn Curry is ready to serve with Red Rice & Indian Flattened Breads.
