Peanut – 1tbsp
Sesame seeds - 2tbsp
Bengal gram – 1tsp
Urad Dal – 1tsp
Coriander seeds – 1tsp
Red chilli – 5
Fenugreek – 1/2tsp
Oil – 3tbsp
Mustard – 1tsp
Red chilli – 1
Urad dal – 1tsp
Onion – 1cup (chopped)
Turmeric powder – 1/2tsp
Curry leaf – 2 spring
Bitter gourd – 2 (cut into round slice)
Tamarind pulp – 1 cup
Salt – as required
Jaggery – 1 tbsp
Remove the seeds and cut tamarind into round slices. Mix with salt, keep aside for 30minutes. Later extract the pulp out of it.
Connect the power cord to ROBOCOOK and switch ‘ON’ button. Press the Sauté́ Button in front dashboard and wait for 30 secs for the inner cooking pot to get heated up.
Add peanuts, sesame seeds, bengal gram, jeera, urad dal, coriander seeds, red chillies, fenugreek to the inner cooking pot and dry roast for a few mins. Press cancel to stop sauté.
Transfer it to a plate and allow it to cool. Later add this mixture to a blender and grind them into a fine powder.
Clean the pot. Press sauté option. Add oil to the inner cooking pot and let it heat a bit. Add Bitter gourd and shallow fry them for a few mins. Transfer it to a bowl and keep aside.
To the same oil add mustard, urad dal, red chilli, curry leaves and sauté for a few secs.
Then add chopped onion and sauté until it turns translucent. Add turmeric powder and fried bitter gourd. Give it a mix and open cook until the bitter gourd turns soft.
Next add ground powder, extracted tamarind pulp, jaggery and salt. Mix well and add desired water. Open cook until the oil gets separated on the top. Once done switch to Keep Warm or off mode.
Serve hot Kakrakaya Pulusu with steamed rice.
