Ginger – 1 inch finely chopped
Garlic – 8 cloves finely chopped
Onion – 1 finely chopped
Tomato – 2 Sliced
Green Chilli – 1
Channa Dal- 1 cup
Cumin Seeds – ½ table spoon
Fennel Seeds – ½ table spoon
Turmeric Powder – 1tsp
Chilli Powder – 2 table spoon
Coriander Powder – 3 table spoon
Bay Leaf – 2
Cinnamon Stick – 1
Cardamom – 3
Curry Leaf - 5
Star Anise – 1
Oil – ½ cup
Water – 3 Cup
Salt - to taste
Add ½ cup grated coconut, fennel seeds ½ tsp to a blender and grind the ingredients to a smooth paste.
Connect the power cord to ROBOCOOK and switch ‘ON’ button. Press the Saute Button in front dashboard and wait for 30 secs for the inner cooking pot to get heated up.
Add Oil to the inner cooking pot and let it heat a bit. Temper with Cumin Seed, Fennel Seeds, Bay Leaf, Star Anise, Cardamom, Cinnamon Stick, Curry Leaf and saute for few secs.
Add finely chopped onions, ginger, garlic, tomato, green chilli one by one and saut till onion turn translucent.
Next add turmeric powder, Chilli powder, Coriander Powder, salt and sauté for 5 minutes. Now add 3 cups of water, coconut paste, channa dal and give it a stir. Press cancel to stop saute.
Press the ‘Dal’pre-set menu button in the ROBOCOOK and select Quick. PIC TECHNOLOGY pre-sets temperature/pressure/timer for pre-cooking
After Pre-Cooking is done the cooking countdown will appear and starts down from 20 mins. Once the countdown comes down and cooking is completed it stops with 3 Beep sound and automatically switches to KEEP WARMmode. Press ‘Cancel’ if not required.
Wait for 10 mins to get Natural Pressure Release (OR) it can be released manually by pulling ‘UP’ the pressure release button. Ensure the pressure is released completely on both the methods
Now TWIST and Open the cooker. Switch to Keep warm or Off mode. Give a quick stir. and
Serve the appeasing Karnataka Channa Dal Sagu with pulav or chapattis.
