Ingredients
Cooked basmati rice – 2 cups
Cloves – 3-4
Green cardamom – 2
Black cardamom – 1
Bay leaf – 2
Black Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
Black pepper corn – 3
Whole masoor dal (brown lentils) – 1 cup
(Overnight soaked)
Onion sliced – 2
Tomato chopped – 2
Ginger garlic paste – 2 tsp
Coriander and mint leaves – 1 cup
Red chilli powder – 2 tsp
Garam masla – 1 tsp
Coriander powder – 1 tsp
Yellow food colour – 1 pinch
Salt – 1 tsp
Oil – 4 tbsp
Steps
- Connect the power cord to ROBOCOOK and switch ‘ON’ button. Press the Sauté́ Button in front dashboard and wait for 30 secs for the inner cooking pot to get heated up.
- Add oil to the inner cooking pot and let it warm a bit. Add bay leaves, black cumin seeds, green cardamom, black cardamom, black pepper, cloves and saute for min.
- Then add onion and saute till they turn golden brown in color. Further add in ginger garlic paste and continue to saute for 2 min.
- Then add red chilli powder, garam masala powder, coriander powder, salt and stir cook for 1 min.
- Next add tomato, mint, coriander leaves and masoor dal. Cook for 5 min. Spread cooked rice on masala and pour food colour on top of rice. Press cancel to stop saute
- Place the closing lid over the top, Turn and place the Pointer in ‘Close’ Position. Ensure the lid is firmly closed and Pressure release button should be on ‘DOWN’ Position.
- Press the ‘Biryani’ pre-set menu button in the ROBOCOOK and select Medium. PIC TECHNOLOGY pre-sets temperature/pressure/timer for pre-cooking.
- After Pre-Cooking is done the cooking countdown will appear and starts down from 15 mins. Once the countdown comes down and cooking is completed it stops with 3 Beep sound and automatically switches to KEEP WARM mode. Press ‘Cancel’ if not required.
- Wait for 10 mins to get Natural Pressure Release (OR) it can be released manually by pulling ‘UP’ the pressure release button. Ensure the pressure is released completely on both the methods.
- Now TWIST and Open the cooker. Switch to Keep warm or Off mode. Mix rice and masala.
- Serve hot masoor pulav with raita and papad.
