Ingredients
For masala paste:
Oil - 2 tbsp
onion - ½ (sliced)
Clove garlic - 3 (crushed)
Ginger - 1 inch (chopped)
Dry coconut - 2 tbsp (sliced)
Water - ¼ cup
For curry:
Oil - 2 tsp
Mustard - 1 tsp
Cumin / jeera - 1 tsp
Hing / asafoetida - a pinch
Onion - 1 (finely chopped)
Turmeric - ½ tsp
Kashmiri chilli powder - 1 tsp
Goda masala - 1 tsp
Salt - 1 tsp
Tomato - 1 (finely chopped)
Moong sprouts - 2 cup
Water - 3 cup
Coriander - 2 tbsp (finely chopped)
Curry leaves - handful
Steps
- Connect the power cord to ROBOCOOK and switch ‘ON’ button. Press The ‘Sauté' Button in front dashboard and wait for 30 secs for the inner cooking pot to get heated up.
- Add oil to the inner cooking pot and let it heat a bit. Add chopped onion, clove garlic, ginger and sauté well.
- Next add dry coconut and sauté until it turns golden brown in colour. Press cancel to stop sauté, cool completely and transfer to a blender. Add water and blend to form a smooth paste. Keep aside.
- Clean the pot and press sauté option. Add oil to the inner cooking pot and let it heat a bit.
- Add mustard, cumin, hing, few curry leaves and let it splutter. Then add onion and sauté until it turns light brown in colour.
- Further add turmeric, chilli powder, goda masala, salt and continue to sauté till the raw smell goes.
- Now add tomato and sauté for few secs. Then add moong sprouts, water and give it a good mix. Press cancel to stop saute.
- Place the closing lid over the top, Turn and place the Pointer in ‘CLOSE’ Position. Ensure the lid is firmly closed and Pressure release button should be on ‘DOWN’ Position.
- Press the ‘Sambar/Gravy’ pre-set menu button in the ROBOCOOK and select Quick. PIC TECHNOLOGY pre-sets temperature/pressure/timer for pre-cooking
- After Pre-Cooking is done the cooking countdown will appear and starts down from 5 mins. Once the countdown comes down and cooking is completed it stops with 3 Beep sound and automatically switches to KEEP WARM mode. Press ‘Cancel’ if not required.
- Wait for 10 mins to get Natural Pressure Release (OR) it can be released manually by pulling ‘UP’ the pressure release button. Ensure the pressure is released completely on both the methods.
- Now TWIST and Open the cooker. Switch to Keep warm or Off mode. Add coriander and give a good mix.
- Serve warm Sprouted Moong Dal Curry / Mugachi Usal with rice or Indian breads.
