Punjabi Chole Masala

Chick pea- 200 gms
Onion – 3 Nos
Garlic – 8 cloves
Tomato Puree - 3 Nos blended
Green chillies – 2 Nos
Coconut – ¼ shell
Cooking Oil – 50 gms
Cumin Seeds - 1 Tbsp
Cinnamon – 1 inch
Bay leaf – 2 Nos
Cardamom – 3 Nos
Star Anies – 2 Nos
Cloves – 4 Nos
Chilli powder – 1 Tbsp
Turmeric powder – 1 Tsp
Jeera Powder – 1 Tsp
Dhaniya powder – 1 Tbsp
Chole Masale powder – 1 Tbsp
Amchur powder – 1 Tsp
Salt to taste
To Grind
Coconut – 1 cup
Green Chillies - 4
Garlic -5
Onions -3
Wash and soak Chick pea for about 8 hrs. Grind the above ingredients mentioned under To grind to a fine paste
Connect the power cord to ROBOCOOK and switch ‘ON’ button. Press the Sauté́ Button in front dashboard and wait for 30 secs for the inner cooking pot to get heated up.
Add Oil to the inner cooking pot and temper with Bay leaf, Cinnamon, Cardamom, Cloves and Cumin seeds.
Saute grinded paste and add turmeric, Chilli, Jeera, Dhaniya, Amchur, Chole masala powders one by one and cook till the oil separates. Next add tomato puree and cook for 5 minutes
Later add soaked Chik peas along with water and continue to saute well. Press cancel button to stop saute.
Place the closing lid over the top, Turn and place the Pointer in ‘Close’ Position. Ensure the lid is firmly closed and Pressure release button should be on ‘DOWN’ Position.
Press the ‘Dal/Channa’ pre-set menu button in the ROBOCOOK and select Medium. PIC TECHNOLOGY pre-sets temperature/pressure/timer for pre-cooking
After Pre-Cooking is done the cooking countdown will appear and starts down from 40 mins. Once the countdown comes down and cooking is completed it stops with 3 Beep sound and automatically switches to KEEP WARM mode. Press ‘Cancel’ if not required.
Wait for 10 mins to get Natural Pressure Release (OR) it can be released manually by pulling ‘UP’ the pressure release button. Ensure the pressure is released completely on both the methods
Now TWIST and Open the cooker. Switch to Keep warm or Off mode. Add 1 tsp Ghee and garnish with coriander leaves. Mix well before serving.
