Ingredients:
Bengal gram – 1cup
Fennel seeds – 2tsp
Red chili – 3no
Oil – for frying
Cinnamon – 2stick
Cardamom – 2no
Cloves - -3no
Bay leaf -1no
Onion – 2 no’s( chopped )
Tomato – 2no’s (chopped)
Green chili – 2no
Ginger garlic paste – 1tsp
Turmeric powder – 1tsp
Coriander powder – 11/2 tsp
Chilli powder - 2-3 tsp
Garam masala powder – ½ tsp
Coconut (grated) – 2tbsp
Salt – to taste
Coriander leaves – 1 spring
Steps:
- Wash and soak dal for 2 hours and keep aside. After 2 hours drain the water and grind the dal coarsely along with Fennel seeds(1&1/2 tsp), red chili, and salt (don’t add water). Make a paste of coconut with little water and keep aside
- Connect the power cord to ROBOCOOK and switch the ‘ON’ button. Press the Sauté́ Button in the front dashboard and wait for 30 secs for the inner cooking pot to get heated up.
- Add oil to the inner cooking pot and let it heat a bit. Make balls in the ground batter and deep fry it. After it gets the fried break it into small pieces.
- In sauté mode, add cooking oil (2tbsp), whole garam masala, fennel seeds, and saute for few secs.
- Now add onions, curry leaves, green chili, and saute till it changes color. Add ginger-garlic paste, tomato, and continue to saute.
- Now add turmeric powder, coriander powder, chili powder, garam masala powder, and saute till the raw smell goes. Then add ground coconut, enough water, and allow it to boil.
- Finally, add the broken balls and allow them to boil. Keep stirring. Then add coriander leaves and mix well. At last, Switch to Keep warm or Off mode.
- Serve the yummy VADA CURRY with hot idly.
