Spicy Chicken Malwani Curry

Chicken – 1 kg
Ginger garlic paste – 2 tbsp
Onion chopped – 1
Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
Bay leaves – 2
Salt – 1 tsp
Oil – 3 tsp
Coriander leaves – 5 tsp
Dried red chillies – 8-10
Coriander seeds – 1 tbsp
Cumin seeds – 1tbsp
Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
Caraway seeds – 1 tsp
Sesame seeds – 1/2 tbsp
Blades mace – 2
Nutmeg – 1/4
Star anise – 2
Fennel seeds – 1 tbsp
Cloves – 4-5
Cinnamon – 1 inch
Green cardamom – 3-4
Black cardamom – 1
Black paper – 10
Desiccated coconut – 1/4 cup
Asafoetida – 1 pinch
Onion sliced – 2
Fresh grated coconut – 1 cup
Garlic – 5-6
Oil – 1 tbsp
Marinate the chicken with ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder, salt and keep it aside.
Connect the power cord to ROBOCOOK and switch ‘ON’ button. Press the Saute Button in front dashboard and wait for 30 secs for the inner cooking pot to get heated up.
Add Dried red chillies, Coriander seeds, Cumin seeds, Mustard seeds, Caraway seeds, Sesame seeds, Blades mace, Nutmeg, Star anise, Fennel seeds, Cloves, Cinnamon, Green cardamom, Black cardamom, Black paper, Desiccated coconut, Asafoetidato to the cooking pot.
Roast for 3 min on sauté mode or until you get nice nutty aroma. Then take it off , and press cancel button on robocook. Cool for few min and then add it to a mixer grinder and grind well. keep malwani powder aside.
Clean the pot press sauté button on robocook. Add 2 tsp oil to the inner cooking pot and once oil is hot add sliced onion, garlic and sauté for 2-3 min
Next add freshly grated coconut to the onions and roast them for 8 -9 min until it turns golden brown in colour
Remove from the pot. Once cool down grind it a smooth paste with adding some water and garlic
Then in same robocook pot on sauté mode add 2 tbsp oil, bay leaves, onion and sauté for 3-4 min until onion turns golden brown.
Now add the marinated chicken and saute for 4-5 min until it is brown on all sides. Then add malwani maslala powder and cook for another 2 min.
Add onion- coconut paste and cook the chicken along with masala for 3 min.Now add 3 cups of water to chicken with salt and mix it well. Press cancel to stop saute.
Place the closing lid over the top, Turn and place the Pointer in ‘Close’ Position. Ensure the lid is firmly closed and Pressure release button should be on ‘DOWN’ Position.
Press the ‘Non Veg – Chicken’ pre-set menu button in the ROBOCOOK and select Quick. PIC TECHNOLOGY pre-sets temperature/pressure/timer for pre-cooking.
After Pre-Cooking is done the cooking countdown will appear and starts down from 10 mins. Once the countdown comes down and cooking is completed it stops with 3 Beep sound and automatically switches to KEEP WARM mode. Press ‘Cancel’ if not required.
Wait for 10 mins to get Natural Pressure Release (OR) it can be released manually by pulling ‘UP’ the pressure release button. Ensure the pressure is released completely on both the methods.
Now TWIST and Open the cooker. Switch to Keep warm or Off mode. Give it good mix.
Serve hot and spicy malwani chicken curry with roti or rice.
