Southern spice dal chicken soup

Vegetable oil – 1.5 tsp
Chicken – 100 gm
Onion – 3 to 4 (chopped)
Ginger – 10 gms (chopped)
Garlic – 1 (chopped)
Green chilli – 1 (chopped)
Cardamom seeds – 3
Cinnamon stick – 1
Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
Cumin powder – 1 tsp
Coriander powder – 1 ½ tsp
Red bell pepper – 30 to 40 gms (diced)
Bay leaf – 1
Peppercorns – 5 gm
Moong dal - 100 gms (soaked)
Coconut milk – 1/2 cup
Lime – 1/2 (juiced)
Vegetable stock – 1 ½ litre
Apple – 20 gms (chopped)
Carrots – 40 gms (chopped)
Potato – 1 (medium, chopped)
Salt – as required
Sugar – as required
Pepper – ½ tsp
Fresh coriander leaves – 2 to 3 sprigs
Water – as required
Connect the power cord to ROBOCOOK and switch ‘ON’ button. Press the Sauté́ Button in front dashboard and wait for 30 secs for the inner cooking pot to get heated up.
Add vegetable oil to the inner cooking pot and let it heat a bit. Add cardamom seeds, cinnamon stick, bay leaf and sauté for few secs.
Add in onion and sauté until it turns pink. Add ginger, garlic, green chilli and sauté until the raw smell goes.
Add red bell pepper and continue to sauté until it turns soft. Next add pepper corns, moong dal and sauté for another few mins.
Add in apple, carrots, potato, salt and sauté until they turn mushy. Add chicken, water and mix well. Let it open cook for few mins.
Then add in turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder and stir gently until the masalas get combined.
Now add coconut milk, lime juice, vegetable stock and stir cook for few mins. Press cancel to stop sauté.
Place the closing lid over the top, Turn and place the Pointer in ‘CLOSE’ Position. Ensure the lid is firmly closed and Pressure release button should be on ‘DOWN’ Position.
Press the ‘Chicken’ pre-set menu button in the ROBOCOOK and select Medium. PIC TECHNOLOGY pre-sets temperature/pressure/timer for pre-cooking
After Pre-Cooking is done the cooking countdown will appear and starts down from 20 mins. Once the countdown comes down and cooking is completed it stops with 3 Beep sound and automatically switches to KEEP WARM mode. Press ‘Cancel’ if not required.
Wait for 10 mins to get Natural Pressure Release (OR) it can be released manually by pulling ‘UP’ the pressure release button. Ensure the pressure is released completely on both the methods.
Now TWIST and Open the cooker. Press sauté option. Add sugar, pepper and allow it to cook for few mins. Give a quick stir. Switch to keep warm or off mode and garnish with coriander leaves.
