Illish Pulao Recipe

For Fish:
Fish - 6 pieces
Onion - 1/2 cup finely chopped
Onions - 2 ground to paste
Ginger Garlic Paste - 2 tsp
Red Chilli powder - 1 tsp
Green Chillies - 4 tsp
Plant based Curd - 1/4 cup
Coconut milk - 1 cup
Ghee - 3 tsp
Salt to taste
For Pulao:
Rice - 2 cups Basmati soaked for 20 minutes
Coconut milk - 1 cup
Green Chilli - 1
Ghee - 1 tsp
Salt to taste
Lukewarm Water - 3 cups
Whole Garam Masala:
Bay leaf - 1
Cinnamon Stick - 2 inch
Cardamom - 5 Pods/Seeds crushed
Cloves - 5
Soak rice for 20 minutes. Keep aside.
Connect the power cord to ROBOCOOK and switch ‘ON’ button. Press The Saute' Button in front dashboard and wait for 30 secs for the inner cooking pot to get heated up.
Add ghee to the inner cooking pot and allow it to melt. Add chopped onions and saute until it turns translucent.
Add in ginger garlic paste, red chilli powder and mix well. Sprinkle water if required.
Next add whisked plant based curd, salt and stir until everything combines together well.
Pour half of the coconut milk and stir continuously. Add raw fish pieces into the gravy very carefully without breaking the fish. Cook evenly on all sides by flipping it over.
Then add green chilli and cook for 4-5 minutes. Add rest of the coconut milk and cook for 10 minutes or until fish is cooked thoroughly. Remove from pot and keep it aside.
Press Cancel. Clean the pot. Press The Saute' Button.
Add ghee to the inner cooking pot and allow it ot melt. Add bay leaf, cinnamon stick, cardamom, cloves and sauté for few secs.
Now add half of the prepared gravy along with luke warm water. Allow it to boil.
Add the soaked rice into the mixture and let it cook for 10-12 minutes or until rice is almost half cooked.
Add coconut milk, salt and cook covered for another 10 minutes or until the rice is completely cooked.
Now arrange the ilish pieces on bed of rice and pour the prepared gravy on it. Cover and cook for another 5-7 minutes. Once done , Switch to Keep Warm or OFF mode.
Serve hot and tasty Ilish Pulao with raitha.
