Ingredients
Basmati Rice (rinsed & drained) - 1 cup
Spinach (chopped) - 2-3 cups
Fresh Green Peas - 1/2 cup
Onion (thinly sliced) – 1 medium
Tomato (finely chopped) – 1 medium
Ginger-Garlic (minced)– 1 tbsp
Green Chillies (chopped) - 2- 3
Cashew nuts – 6-7
Lime Juice - 1 tbsp
2 tbsp (finely chopped) – 2 tbsp
Water – 1.5 cups
Oil – 1 tbsp
Salt - to taste
Cinnamon Stick - 1 Inch
Bay Leaf – 1
Cardamom - 1
Cloves – 2- 3
Cumin (Jeera) Seeds - 1/2 Tsp
Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
Coriander Powder - 1/2 tsp
Garam Masala Powder - 1/2 tsp
Steps
- Connect the power cord to ROBOCOOK and switch ‘ON’ button. Press the Saute Button in front dashboard and wait for 30 secs for the inner cooking pot to get heated up.
- Add oil to the pot and once it's hot, add Cinnamon Stick, bay Leaf, cardamom, cloves, cumin and cashew. Saute till cashew nuts turn light brown in color.
- Then add sliced onions, ginger-garlic paste, green chillies. Saute for 2-3 minutes until they turn soft and light brown in colour - stir regularly.
- Add tomatoes and saute for 2 minutes till they turn soft. Add spinach leaves, green peas and continue sauting till the leaves wilt.
- Now add rinsed basmati Rice, water, turmeric powder, garam masala powder, coriander powder, coriander leaves, lime juice, salt one by one and give a good stir. Press cancel to stop saute.
- Place the closing lid over the top, Turn and place the Pointer in ‘CLOSE’ Position. Ensure the lid is firmly closed and Pressure release button should be on ‘DOWN’ Position.
- Press the ‘Rice’ pre-set menu button in the ROBOCOOK and select Medium. PIC TECHNOLOGY pre-sets temperature/pressure/timer for pre-cooking
- After Pre-Cooking is done the cooking countdown will appear and starts down from 12 mins. Once the countdown comes down and cooking is completed it stops with 3 Beep sound and automatically switches to KEEP WARM mode. Press ‘Cancel’ if not required.
- Wait for 10 mins to get Natural Pressure Release (OR) it can be released manually by pulling ‘UP’ the pressure release button. Ensure the pressure is released completely on both the methods
- Now TWIST and Open the cooker. Switch to Keep warm or Off mode. Mix well.
- Spinacy Spinach Pulao is ready to serve with raita or plain yogurt.
