Ingredients
Whole urad dal/ vigna mungo (overnight soak) – 1 cup
Onion chopped – 2
Tomato paste/pure – 1 cup
Red chilli powder – 2 tbsp
Coriander powder – 1 tbsp
Garam masala powder – 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder – 1/2 tbsp[
Cumin seeds – 1 tbsp
Muster seeds – 1 tbsp
Cinnamon sticks – 2
Ginger garlic paste – 2 tbsp
Fresh cream – 3 tbsp
Butter – 2 tbsp
Ghee – 2 tbsp
Salt – 1 tsp
Coriander leaves – 2 tbsp
Steps
- Connect the power cord to ROBOCOOK and switch ‘ON’ button.
- Add soaked urad dal to the inner cooking pot along with 3 cups of water and turmeric powder. Mix well.
- Place the closing lid over the top, Turn and place the Pointer in ‘CLOSE’ Position. Ensure the lid is firmly closed and Pressure release button should be on ‘DOWN’ Position.
- Press the ‘Dal’ pre-set menu button in the ROBOCOOK and select Quick. PIC TECHNOLOGY pre-sets temperature/pressure/timer for pre-cooking
- After Pre-Cooking is done the cooking countdown will appear and starts down from 20 mins. Once the countdown comes down and cooking is completed it stops with 3 Beep sound and automatically switches to KEEP WARM mode. Press ‘Cancel’ if not required.
- Wait for 10 mins to get Natural Pressure Release (OR) it can be released manually by pulling ‘UP’ the pressure release button. Ensure the pressure is released completely on both the methods.
- Now TWIST and Open the cooker. Switch to Off mode.Mash boiled dal and remove from cooking pot and keep aside.
- Clean the pot and press saute option. Add ghee, mustard seeds and let them pop. Then add cumin seeds, cinnamon sticks to it and saute for few sec.
- Add chopped onion, ginger garlic paste and saute until soft. Next add red chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala along with tomato paste and salt.
- Mix well and cook for 3 min on saute mode.Now add boiled dal with 1 ½ cup of water and cook for 15 min stirring continuously to avoid the dal scorching at the bottom.
- Later add fresh cream and butter. Cook for another 2 min.Garnish with coriander leaves and fresh cream.
- Serve hot dal with roti or rice.
