Kerala Paruppu Curry

Green Gram (Split) – ½ Cup
Water – 2 Cups
Salt – Add to taste
Coconut Oil & Curry Leaves – To Garnish
Coconut scraped – 1 Cup
Garlic – 1 Clove
Cumin Seeds – ½ Tsp
Turmeric Powder – ½ Tsp
Water to make a paste
Wash the Green Gram (Split) and soak it for 10 minutes.
Grind the scraped coconut, garlic, cumin seeds, turmeric powder with water to a smooth paste.
Connect the power cord to ROBOCOOK and switch ‘ON’ button. Press The Saute' Button in front dashboard and wait for 30 secs for the inner cooking pot to get heated up.
Add the soaked Green gram into the Cooking pot and salt to taste. Then add 2 Cups water and give it a good stir. (Too much water will change the consistency. )
Place the closing lid over the top, Turn and place the Pointer in ‘Close’ Position. Ensure the lid is firmly closed and Pressure release button should be on ‘DOWN’ Position.
Choose the Menu as Pongal mode with taste as Medium option
Pre-Cooking will happen for few seconds and once the cooking is completed 3 Beep sounds will be heard and it will automatically switches to keep warm mode. Press ‘Cancel’ if not required.
Wait for 10 mins to get Natural Pressure Release (OR) it can be released manually by pulling ‘UP’ the pressure release button. Ensure the pressure is released completely on both the methods.
Open the cooker and then mash the green gram well with a ladle. Next add the ground paste and mix well. Continue in the Saute mode for about 5 minutes. Finally garnish with Coconut oil and curry leaves.
