Tomatoes - 5
Gram flour - 3 tbsp
Nachni powder/ Ragi flour - 1 tbsp
Mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp
Cumin seeds - 1/4 tsp
Garlic cloves - 5 peeled & finely chopped
Ginger - 1&1/2 inch finely chopped
Green chillies(slit horizontal) - 3
Chilli powder - 1&1/2 tsp
Coriander powder - 1 tsp
Asafoetida - 1 pinch
Bay leaves - 2
Oil - 4tbsp
Salt to taste
Coriander leaves - for garnishing.
Water - 2 cups
Connect the power cord to ROBOCOOK and switch ‘ON’ button. Press The Saute' Button in front dashboard and wait for 30 secs for the inner cooking pot to get heated up.
Add water into the Cooking pot with a pinch of salt. Put a small cross insertion on the Tomatoes and then add them into the pot.
Place the closing lid over the top, Turn and place the Pointer in ‘Close’ Position. Ensure the lid is firmly closed and Pressure release button should be on ‘DOWN’ Position.
Press the ‘Sambhar pre-set menu button in the ROBOCOOK and select Quick. PIC TECHNOLOGY pre-sets temperature/pressure/timer for pre-cooking
After Pre-Cooking is done the cooking countdown will appear and starts down from 15 mins. Once the countdown comes down and cooking is completed it stops with 3 Beep sound and automatically switches to KEEP WARM mode. Press ‘Cancel’ if not required.
Wait for 10 mins to get Natural Pressure Release (OR) it can be released manually by pulling ‘UP’ the pressure release button. Ensure the pressure is released completely on both the methods
Now TWIST and Open the cooker. Remove the cooked Tomatoes and keep them aside. Discard the water.
Peel off the Tomato skin and cut them into pieces. Then blend them in a blender or Mixer grinder to make concentrated Tomato puree. Keep it aside.
Next switch the Cooker to Saute mode.Add Oil and let it warm a bit. Add the Gram flour and saute for about 4-5 minutes till the raw smell disappears. Then add the nachni powder and saute well for 2 minutes.
Now add the Mustard seeds and Cumin seeds and wait till they splutter.
Next add the Bay leaf, Asafoetida, finely chopped ginger, finely chopped garlic, finely chopped green chillies and curry leaves. Stir well for 4-5 minutes. (You will see the Oil separating from the mixture.)
Then add Chilli powder and Coriander powder. Give it a good stir so that these spiecs mingle with the mixture.
Finally add the blended tomato puree and salt as per the taste. Then add required quantity of water depending on the desired consistency for the curry.
