Ingredients:
Dry Green or White Peas - 1 cup (soaked for 4 hours minimum)
Onion - 1/2 cup, finely chopped
Tomato puree - 1 cup
Red Chilli Powder - 2 tsp
Besan or Chickpea Flour - 1 tsp
Water - 2 cups
Chaat Masala - To taste
Salt - To taste
Oil - 2 tsp
For Garnishing:
Finely Chopped Onions
Grated Raw Mango
Plain Sev
Finely chopped Coriander
Steps:
- Connect the power cord to ROBOCOOK and switch the ‘ON’ button. Press the Sauté́ Button in the front dashboard and wait for 30 secs for the inner cooking pot to get heated up.
- Add oil to the inner cooking pot and let it warm a bit. Add onion and saute till it goes pink. Then add tomato puree, red chili powder, soaked peas, salt, 1/2 cup water, and mix well.
- Press the ‘Cancel’ button to stop the ‘Saute’ mode. Place the closing lid over the top, Turn and place the Pointer in the ‘Close’ position. Ensure the lid is firmly closed and the Pressure release button should be in ‘DOWN’ Position.
- Press the ‘Manual’ pre-set menu button in the ROBOCOOK with the Medium option and set 4 mins time. PIC TECHNOLOGY pre-sets temperature/pressure/timer for pre-cooking
- After Pre-Cooking is done the cooking countdown will appear and starts down from 4 mins. Once the countdown comes down and cooking is completed it stops with 3 Beep sound and automatically switches to KEEP WARM mode. Press ‘Cancel’ if not required.
- Wait for 10 mins to get Natural Pressure Release (OR) it can be released manually by pulling ‘UP’ the pressure release button. Ensure the pressure is released completely on both methods
- Meanwhile, take a bowl and mix besan in 1/4 cup water and make a paste first. Add the rest of the water to the paste and whisk into a slurry without any lumps.
- Now TWIST and Open the cooker. Press the ‘Saute’ button in the dashboard and add the chickpea flour slurry to the inner pot and stir well.
- Boil for 1 or 2 mins. Stir well till the sauce gets a glossy look. Finally, add the chaat masala powder and give a good stir. Press the ‘Cancel’ button and switch off the unit.
Serve this peas chaat in individual bowls topped with finely chopped onions, coriander leaves, and grated raw mango.
