Malwani Crab Curry

Turmeric powder - 2 tsp
Chili powder - 2 tsp
Garlic paste - 1 tsp
Tamarind pulp - 2 tsp
Sea salt- to taste
Crab - 1 kg
For the masala:
Oil - 1 tsp
Coriander seeds - 3tsp
Cloves - 4
Black peppercorns - 1 tsp
Piece of cinnamon -1 inch
Red onions - 2 (chopped)
Cloves of garlic -3
Dry coconut -¾ cup (shredded)
Red chili powder - 1tsp
Tamarind pulp - 1 tsp
Onions 2 medium (chopped)
Oil – 1tsp
Mix the Turmeric powder, Chili powder, Garlic paste, Tamarind pulp, Sea salt Crab together and rub the marinade well into the cleaned crabs. Set aside for half an hour.
Connect the power cord to ROBOCOOK and switch ‘ON’ button. Press the Saute Button in front dashboard and wait for 30 secs for the inner cooking pot to get heated up.
Add oil to the inner cooking pot and let it heat a bit. Add coriander seeds, cloves, peppercorns, cinnamon and saute until the coriander seeds are deep golden brown and the other spices swell up and are fragrant.
Then add sliced onion, garlic cloves and saute until the onion starts to brown and the garlic is blistered. Further add the shredded dry coconut and stir fry until it is toasted and golden.
Add the chili powder and stir for a few seconds. Remove from heat. Grind together all the sautéed mixture with the tamarind pulp. Add ½ of the finely diced onion to it and set it aside.
Clean the pot and press saute mode. Add oil, other half of the finely diced onion and saute until it is translucent. Add the marinated crabs along with all the marinade. Add the masala paste and mix well.
Add 2 cups of water and some additional salt. Stir well and press cancel to stop saute.
Place the closing lid over the top, Turn and place the Pointer in ‘CLOSE’ Position. Ensure the lid is firmly closed and Pressure release button should be on ‘DOWN’ Position.
Press the ‘Manual’pre-set menu button in the ROBOCOOK and select medium with 25 min timer. PIC TECHNOLOGY pre-sets temperature/pressure/timer for pre-cooking
After Pre-Cooking is done the cooking countdown will appear and starts down from 25 mins. Once the countdown comes down and cooking is completed it stops with 3 Beep sound and automatically switches to KEEP WARMmode. Press ‘Cancel’ if not required.
Wait for 10 mins to get Natural Pressure Release (OR) it can be released manually by pulling ‘UP’ the pressure release button. Ensure the pressure is released completely on both the methods.
Now TWIST and Open the cooker. Switch to Keep warm or Off mode.
Malwani Crab Curry is ready to serve with rice.
