Raw pumpkin- 1/2 Kg
Tamarind pulp - 2 tbsp
Jaggery- 1/4th cup Grated
Salt - as required
Mustard seeds- 1 tsp
Whole dried red Chillies - 2-3
Raisins. - 1 tsp
Mustard oil. - 1 1/2 Tbsp
Cut the pumpkin into small pieces and keep aside
Connect the power cord to ROBOCOOK and switch ‘ON’ button. Press the Sauté́ Button in front dashboard and wait for 30 secs for the inner cooking pot to get heated up.
Add cut pumpkin pieces into the inner cooking pot. Add required water and open cook until the pumpkin is soft and mushy.
Next add jaggrery, tamarind pulp, salt and continue to cook for another 3-5 mins. Press cancel Transfer the contents to a bowl.
Clean the pot. Press sauté. Add mustard oil to the inner cooking pot and let it heat a bit. Add mustard seeds, bay leaf , red chilli and allow it to splutter. Then add raisins. Once it puffs up, Switch to OFF mode.
Now pour the tempering over the pumpkin jaggery mixture and mix well.
Serve Pumpkin Oambal with steamed rice.
